Launching a food brand
Selling on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and Zepto: Food Seller Requirements
Prepare regulatory product evidence and current platform documents before listing food on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit or Zepto. Each platform has its own onboarding and commercial process. Approval to list is separate from ingredient, label, claim and business compliance.

Use official platform requirements
| Platform | Primary-source preparation points |
|---|---|
| Amazon India | Grocery page requests FSSAI details and a food-safety compliance declaration; organic products have additional conditions |
| Flipkart | Seller food terms address licence/registration display, product information and food supply conditions |
| Blinkit | Seller Hub lists business/brand, contact, tax/bank and shipping details, including FSSAI where applicable |
| Zepto | Brand FAQ lists business, banking and brand-authority documents; Brand Portal terms include relevant FSSAI account details |
Check the current authenticated flow and agreement for the exact product. Amazon; Flipkart; Blinkit; Zepto; Zepto account terms.
Prepare the actual product dossier
Keep appropriate authorisations, manufacturer details, recipe and label evidence, claimed certifications and approved images. Catalogue dimensions, pack quantity and product names should agree with the stock shipped. A marketplace form is not an ingredient-permission assessment.
Review listings and remaining life
Check food declarations and claims across titles, images and descriptions. Read the platform’s current storage, delivery, shelf-life and return requirements. Do not turn one platform’s rule or a historical contract into a universal figure for all four services.
Manage certificates and verification queries
Use issued details that match the legal entity and premises. Where forms do not handle perpetual validity, preserve the certificate and obtain the platform’s documented instruction. Do not enter an invented date simply to complete onboarding.
Separate regulatory help from commercial promises
Platform selection, category approval and commercial terms remain platform decisions. Blinkit’s official brands page directs listing through its Seller Hub and warns against shortcuts or supposed official listing partners. Our review service does not guarantee listing. Read the official guidance.
A worked example
Hypothetical example
A brand prepares one product file, then maps the different document and catalogue requests for each platform. A supplier certificate and an organic claim receive their own evidence checks. The brand treats accepted onboarding documents as a channel milestone rather than proof that every product claim is valid.
Your practical checklist
- Use official platform onboarding channels.
- Prepare matching entity and certificate details.
